FLUX-1-schnell is a 12 billion parameter rectified flow transformer distilled for fast image generation, producing competitive-quality images in just 1 to 4 inference steps. It is trained with latent adversarial diffusion distillation, which lets it reach usable output far faster than multi-step models while keeping reasonable prompt adherence, making it a good fit for rapid prototyping and interactive applications. Released under the Apache 2.0 license, FLUX-1-schnell permits both personal and commercial use, which has made it widely adopted for open-weight image generation. It can run on consumer hardware, supports optional CPU offloading to reduce memory use, and delivers quality and prompt following that hold up well against heavier models for many everyday generation tasks.
